Lesson 74 – There is no will but God’s.
In the movie King Kong, the beast is seen to be spending most of his time in a state of anger and rage because he is attempting to pursue what he perceives to be beauty in the world but he cannot obtain it. His persistence in pursuing beauty in the world only brings him constant irritation, rage and unpeace. In the end, the pursuit of seeming happiness in the world ultimately destroys him. This is the only message the ego has for us. It is that the pursuit of happiness and joy will ultimately destroy us in the end. This is not true but it is true that true happiness and joy lies not in this world. It is found within yourself. Lesson 73 – I will there be light.
In today’s Lesson, paragraph 5, sentences 3 & 4 stand out to me: “Grievances darken your mind, and you look out on a darkened world. Forgiveness lifts the darkness, reasserts your will, and lets you look upon a world of light.”
In 2005, as we were celebrating the last night of our trip to Florida, I began to have thoughts in my mind that clouded my judgment.
